Woodlawn: Home of the future Obama Presidential Library and more!

The Woodlawn Neighborhood

The Woodlawn neighborhood is growing and changing as I write this.  This is not really surprising since it sits right next to the Hyde Park neighborhood which has undergone major growth itself over the last 5 years.

The biggest changes in Woodlawn are right around the corner.  This will be the home to the Obama Presidential Library, which will bring new construction, new homes, new residents, new shops, and transportation.

The University of Chicago is doing its part in changing this neighborhood as well.  Students and Professors live mostly in the Hyde Park neighborhood but over the years,  U of C has been actively working at building and expanding the student housing into the Woodlawn neighborhood.  Soon, Woodlawn will look like it is part of the University of Chicago Campus with the amount of student housing and resources planned for the area.

TIP!  The best way to get a true feel of a neighborhood is to go there and talk to the people who live there!
